The Art of Transformation
Every brushstroke, every pattern, and every creative effort has the power to transform a life.
Guru Purnima is a beautiful reminder that no journey is ever walked alone. Behind every transformation stands a teacher, a guide, a mentor, or a community that gently lights the path forward.
As I write this note, I find myself reflecting on my own journey.
A few years ago, after multiple surgeries and a prolonged health crisis, I found myself searching for healing, purpose, and hope. What began as a simple attempt to calm my mind through art slowly became a profound journey of transformation. Through Indian art forms, I discovered focus amidst uncertainty, peace amidst chaos, and a deeper connection with myself.
What started as a personal healing practice eventually became Canvas of Heritage.
Today, when I look at our community, I see stories as inspiring as my own. I see children developing patience and confidence. I see adults rediscovering creativity they thought they had lost. I see members finding friendships, purpose, leadership opportunities, and even emotional healing through art.
This Guru Purnima edition is dedicated to that spirit of growth and guidance. Within these pages, you will discover the beautiful artworks of our Diamond members, inspiring creations from Folk Fiesta Seasons 3 and 4, and the journeys of three remarkable artists from different generations. Geetha ji reminds us that creativity has no age limit. Sara shows us the power of starting young. Poonam's journey reflects how art can nurture not just artists, but leaders.
At Canvas of Heritage, our mission extends beyond preserving Indian art forms. We strive to create a space where art becomes a tool for focus, confidence, healing, self-expression, and personal growth.
As you explore this edition, I hope you are inspired not only by the artworks, but also by the people behind them. Their stories remind us that every brushstroke, every pattern, and every creative effort has the power to transform a life.
On this Guru Purnima, I offer my deepest gratitude to my teachers, mentors, parents, family, and every member of the Canvas of Heritage community. Thank you for being a part of this journey and for helping us carry forward the timeless wisdom, beauty, and spirit of Indian art.
The Guru–Shishya Parampara
A timeless tradition of wisdom, transformation, and heritage.
Guru Purnima is much more than a festival—it is a celebration of one of India's greatest traditions: the Guru–Shishya Parampara, the sacred bond between a teacher and a student. It reminds us that true learning is not merely the transfer of knowledge, but the transformation of the learner.
According to Indian tradition, it was on the auspicious day of Guru Purnima that Lord Shiva became the Adi Guru—the first Guru. After years of deep meditation in the Himalayas, seven earnest seekers approached him with a sincere desire to understand the mysteries of life.
Moved by their unwavering dedication, Lord Shiva accepted them as his disciples. These seven disciples came to be known as the Saptarishis, the seven great sages.
To them, Lord Shiva imparted the profound wisdom of yoga, meditation, self-awareness, and the principles of living in harmony with nature. The Saptarishis then travelled across India and beyond, carrying this timeless knowledge to different parts of the world. Thus began the Guru–Shishya Parampara, a tradition through which India's spiritual wisdom, sciences, arts, and culture have been preserved and passed on for thousands of years.
From classical music and dance to Ayurveda, yoga, sculpture, literature, and the many beautiful forms of Indian folk art, every tradition has flourished because each generation of gurus lovingly shared their knowledge with the next. Knowledge was never viewed as something to be possessed, it was considered a sacred responsibility to nurture, preserve, and pass forward.
But the greatest gift of a guru goes far beyond teaching a subject.
A true guru shapes character, inspires values, builds confidence, and awakens possibilities that a student may never have discovered alone. Long after lessons are forgotten, it is the guru's values, discipline, compassion, and vision that continue to guide the student's life.
Knowledge was never viewed as something to be possessed—it was considered a sacred responsibility to nurture, preserve, and pass forward.
As I reflect on my own journey this Guru Purnima, I feel immense gratitude for the teachers who have shaped the person I am today.
My parents were my very first gurus, laying the foundation of my values and character.
During my dental education, Dr. Raja V. Murthy, my Head of the Department of Periodontics, taught me much more than dentistry. Through his discipline, humility, and professionalism, he showed me what it truly means to carry oneself with dignity and integrity.
Later, Dr. Ajay Singh, my Sujok therapy mentor, introduced me not only to the science of healing but also to profound life lessons rooted in compassion, balance, and selfless service. His guidance helped me understand that true healing begins from within.
In recent years, Siddharth Rajshekhar has been an inspiring mentor in my entrepreneurial journey. While he taught me how to build a digital coaching platform, his teachings on mindset, spirituality, and purposeful living have been equally transformative, encouraging me to grow not only as an entrepreneur but also as a better human being.
Each of these gurus has influenced my life in unique ways, reminding me that education is never limited to a classroom or a curriculum. A true teacher leaves an imprint on the heart, shaping the way we think, live, and serve others.
At Canvas of Heritage, we aspire to carry forward this timeless tradition in our own humble way. As we learn the intricate patterns of Madhubani, the meditative rhythm of Dot Mandala, and the stories woven into India's folk arts, we are doing far more than creating beautiful artworks. We are preserving a priceless heritage while nurturing patience, discipline, creativity, confidence, and a lifelong love for learning.
This Guru Purnima, let us pause to express our heartfelt gratitude to every guru who has illuminated our path. May we continue to learn with humility, create with devotion, and pass forward the wisdom we receive, so that this sacred tradition continues to inspire generations to come.

A guru does not simply teach a subject. A guru transforms a life.
Rath Yatra Bootcamp
Climbing the Chariot of Transformation
When the Lord becomes the charioteer, every journey finds its purpose.
On 15th and 16th July, the Canvas of Heritage family came together for a special Rath Yatra Bootcamp, a two-day celebration of India's rich heritage, timeless wisdom, and the transformative power of art.
Together, we explored the fascinating history of the Jagannath Temple in Puri, uncovering its centuries-old traditions, architectural marvels, and the mysteries that continue to intrigue devotees from around the world. As we immersed ourselves in the spirit of Rath Yatra, we also experienced the joy of singing soulful Jagannath bhajans, allowing devotion to fill our hearts before expressing it through art.
But this bootcamp was about much more than learning history or creating beautiful paintings.
Drawing inspiration from the Bhagavad Gita and the teachings shared during our Sankalpa Sabha, we reflected on a powerful truth: just as Lord Krishna guided Arjuna through life's greatest battle, each one of us also needs the right wisdom, direction, and guidance to navigate our own journey.
The chariot of Rath Yatra became a beautiful metaphor for life itself. Every decision we make, every challenge we overcome, and every step we take shapes the direction of our journey. When we allow ourselves to be guided by timeless wisdom and take conscious action, our lives begin to move towards purpose, growth, and transformation.
The response to the bootcamp was truly heartwarming. Inspired by these teachings, more than 50 participants chose to take the next step in their personal and artistic journey by joining our Diamond Membership embracing a path of deeper learning, self-discovery, and transformation.
The artworks showcased on the following pages are a reflection of those two unforgettable days. Each painting beautifully captures not only the grandeur of Lord Jagannath and the Rath Yatra, but also the devotion, creativity, and heartfelt emotions of our students.
May these creations remind us that, just as the sacred chariot moves forward with collective effort, our own journey is enriched by learning, guidance, and the courage to take the next step.
“May we all become seekers, embrace our inner transformation, and allow the chariot of our lives to move towards purpose, wisdom, and joy.”

Masters in the Making
Where tradition meets transformation.
The Diamond Membership is much more than an art program—it is a journey of mastering India's rich artistic heritage while nurturing the mind, heart, and soul.
Each art form we learn is an invitation to slow down, observe deeply, embrace patience, and connect with centuries of tradition. Beyond learning techniques, our members discover the stories, symbolism, philosophy, and cultural significance behind every brushstroke and every motif.
The last edition celebrated Mandala, Lippan and Warli arts. This edition celebrates two beautiful art forms that showcase both the diversity and depth of Indian creativity.
Madhubani, one of India's most celebrated folk arts, tells stories through intricate patterns, vibrant colours, and symbolic motifs inspired by nature, mythology, and everyday life. Every line carries meaning, and every composition reflects a timeless tradition passed down through generations.
In contrast, Dot Mandala is a meditative art form where thousands of carefully placed dots come together to create harmony, balance, and breathtaking symmetry. It teaches patience, mindfulness, precision, and the beauty of trusting the process—one dot at a time.
The artworks featured in the following pages are not merely paintings. They are reflections of dedication, perseverance, and the remarkable journeys of our Diamond members. Each masterpiece represents countless hours of practice, a willingness to learn, and a deep appreciation for India's artistic legacy.
As you turn these pages, we invite you to experience not only the beauty of these creations but also the passion, discipline, and transformation that brought them to life.
Every masterpiece begins with a single stroke, a single dot, and the courage to keep creating.
Madhubani Art
A timeless legacy from the land of Mithila.
Madhubani, also known as Mithila Art, is one of the oldest and most celebrated folk art traditions of India. Originating from the Mithila region of present-day Bihar and parts of Nepal, this vibrant art form has been lovingly preserved and passed down through generations for thousands of years.
According to legend, the origins of Madhubani art date back to the wedding of Lord Rama and Goddess Sita. It is believed that when King Janak decided to celebrate his daughter's marriage, he asked the people of Mithila to decorate the walls of their homes and the entire kingdom with beautiful paintings depicting scenes of joy, nature, and divinity. What began as a grand celebration gradually evolved into one of India's most treasured artistic traditions.
Traditionally painted on freshly plastered mud walls using natural colours extracted from flowers, leaves, fruits, and minerals, Madhubani art is renowned for its intricate patterns, bold outlines, vibrant colours, and symbolic motifs. Every element, from fish and peacocks to lotus flowers, the Sun, the Moon, and sacred deities, carries a deeper meaning, celebrating harmony between nature, spirituality, and everyday life.
Let's showcase the beautiful Madhubani creations of some of our Diamond members. Through their dedication, creativity, and countless hours of practice, they have brought this timeless art form to life while becoming a part of the continuing story of India's artistic heritage.

Dot Mandala Art
The beauty of patience, precision, and presence.
Unlike many traditional folk arts that evolved within specific communities, Dot Mandala is a contemporary art form inspired by the ancient concept of the Mandala, a Sanskrit word meaning circle. Across Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism, mandalas have long symbolized wholeness, harmony, balance, and the infinite nature of the universe.
Dot Mandala transforms this timeless symbolism into a mesmerizing form of artistic expression. Using thousands of carefully placed dots of varying sizes and colours, artists create intricate geometric patterns that radiate outward from a central point. Each dot contributes to a larger design, reminding us that even the smallest efforts, when made consistently, can create something truly extraordinary.
More than just an art form, Dot Mandala is a deeply meditative experience. It teaches us to slow down, remain present, trust the process, and embrace patience. Every dot requires focus and intention, making the journey of creating the artwork just as meaningful as the final masterpiece.
For our Diamond members, Dot Mandala became a lesson in mindfulness, perseverance, and precision. With every carefully placed dot, they discovered that beauty is created not in haste, but through consistency, patience, and wholehearted dedication.

Folk Fiesta
Where creativity knows no bounds.
Over the years, Folk Fiesta has grown into one of the most exciting and eagerly anticipated traditions at Canvas of Heritage. Every new season brings together hundreds of enthusiastic participants from across different age groups, united by a shared love for Indian art and creative expression.
What makes Folk Fiesta truly special is that it is not a competition of perfection, it is a celebration of originality. Each challenge inspires our students to think creatively, interpret a theme in their own unique way, and bring their imagination to life through the beauty of Indian folk art.
The diversity of ideas that emerge is simply remarkable. A single theme transforms into hundreds of completely different artistic expressions, each carrying the personality, emotions, and perspective of the artist behind it. From young children to senior citizens, every participant reminds us that creativity has no age and no boundaries.
With every season, we continue to witness our community becoming more confident, more innovative, and more fearless in expressing themselves. The enthusiasm, dedication, and artistic growth displayed during Folk Fiesta make it one of the most loved and celebrated features of the Canvas of Heritage family.

Voices of Transformation
Heartfelt journeys of our Diamond members.
Geetha Ji
“It's never too late to discover the artist within.”

I never believed I could draw. Today, art has become one of the greatest joys of my life.
I am single and have always enjoyed keeping myself busy with cross-stitching, beadwork, office work, and other creative activities. My life revolved around these interests. However, art was never really a part of my life. I never believed I could draw and lacked the confidence to even try. Whenever I thought about art, I questioned my own abilities, and my insecurities stopped me from exploring it.
I lost my mother in January 2022, and her absence left a huge void in my life. Although I kept myself occupied with work, cross-stitching, household responsibilities, and watching web series, I still felt something was missing.
Everything changed when I attended one of Dr. Sneha's webinars in December 2025 and joined Canvas of Heritage. The encouragement I received from Sneha Ma'am, the mentors, and the captains made me believe that I too, could create beautiful artworks.
My passion for learning became so strong that, apart from my class assignments, I started creating one artwork every single day. Every painting became an opportunity to practice, learn, and grow.
Sneha Ma'am's teaching created such a deep interest in learning that I completed the entire Silver Membership courses within a month.
Her teaching style is extraordinary. Even though she teaches online, she always feels close to my heart. Her voice, her patience, and the way she explains every concept make every recorded session feel like a live class.
I truly believe I am living proof that the right Guru can inspire a person to discover abilities they never knew they had. I feel incredibly blessed to have found a mentor who is humble, supportive, and always willing to guide every student with love and sincerity.
I wanted to spend this phase of my life learning under Sneha Ma'am and continue growing as an artist.
The Diamond Membership offers much more than art. Along with learning advanced Indian art forms, we also receive valuable guidance on health, relationships, wealth, mindset, and personal growth.
The weekly sessions have become an important part of my life. The Codex helped me understand myself better, while gratitude practices, affirmations, Sujok therapy, and the Money Mission have brought meaningful changes to my daily life.
Over time, my admiration and respect for Sneha ma'am only grew stronger. To me, she is not just an art teacher she is my Manasika Guru, a mentor who has transformed the way I think, learn, and live.
Age is only a number. If you have the desire to learn, pursue it with commitment, sincerity, determination, and consistency. Believe in yourself, discover your hidden potential, and never stop becoming the best version of yourself.
Poonam
“Growing as an artist, leader, and a more confident version of myself.”

The more I create, the more I discover— not just about art, but about myself.
I am a teacher by profession, and despite my busy schedule, I have always loved art. During the COVID period, I began exploring my creative side and realized that I enjoyed creating art myself. When I took a break from teaching last year, Canvas of Heritage entered my life at the perfect time. It gave me the opportunity to learn traditional Indian art forms while reconnecting with my creativity in a meaningful way.
Canvas of Heritage's mission of empowering women through art deeply resonated with me. Over the past year, art has become my space for peace and self-expression. It has helped me stay calm amidst daily challenges and reconnect with my inner self and cultural roots.
Today, I am a calmer, happier, and more confident person, and this positive change has been noticed by my family and friends. I am deeply grateful to Dr. Sneha for creating a platform that empowers women to learn, grow, and transform through art.
The trust that Sneha Ji has placed in me through these leadership roles has been one of the most rewarding parts of my journey. The Sankalp Sabha sessions, especially Blissful Bandhan, taught me to lead with patience, empathy, and understanding. Mentoring others has never felt like simply guiding students—it has been a journey of learning and growing together. Every role has helped me become a better leader, a better learner, and a better human being.
Supporting and encouraging others pushed me beyond my comfort zone and helped me discover strengths I never knew I had. It taught me to communicate with empathy, handle challenges positively, and appreciate the power of teamwork.
The Silver Membership introduced me to the beauty of Indian folk art, but I wanted to learn these art forms in greater depth and work towards mastering them. That inspired me to join the Diamond Membership. The Diamond journey has challenged me to think creatively, step beyond my comfort zone, and approach every artwork with greater confidence and discipline. Along the way, I have realized that the more I create, the more I discover…not just about art, but about myself.
Sara
“Growing up with art, gratitude, and confidence.”
Mrs. Sneha has been my teacher since I was five years old, and she has played a big role in helping me grow.
Even when I was little, her calm and soothing voice made me feel relaxed while creating art. She always reminded me that making mistakes is okay and that every mistake is an opportunity to learn. Over the years, she has taught me much more than art—she has taught me gratitude, confidence, and many valuable life lessons.
These lessons have helped me become a happier, more confident, and curious person.
What I love most is that everyone is on their own unique journey, yet we all encourage and support one another. It feels like a big family where I know I can trust both the community and the learning process.
My favourite is Dot Mandala. Creating thousands of tiny dots and patterns helps me feel calm and focused. It always amazes me how those little dots come together to create something so beautiful.
Sankalpa Sabha has changed the way I think. One of the biggest lessons I learned was changing my mindset from saying "I have to" to "I get to." That has helped me enjoy learning at school and appreciate new opportunities.
The sessions have also taught me patience, gratitude, and empathy. Even when I don't fully understand every discussion, I listen carefully and try to be kind, supportive, and understanding towards others. These lessons have helped me both at school and in my friendships.
Canvas of Heritage is much more than an art class. It is a place where you learn art, build confidence, make wonderful friends, and grow into a better version of yourself. Trust the journey, enjoy the process, and never be afraid to learn. I promise you won't regret it!
